ASPENDOS ANCIENT THEATER

Aspendos is famous for having the best-preserved Roman theater not only in Anatolia but in the entire Mediterranean world. The city was built on a flat hill near one of the region’s largest rivers, the Köprüçay (ancient Eurymedon). Aspendos owed its transportation links and development to this river and the fertile lands surrounding it. Today, visitors mostly explore the ancient theater and aqueducts of Aspendos.

Aspendos Ancient Theater is located approximately 95 km from Alanya. You can take the D400 highway towards Serik and follow the theater signs to reach the theater in about 1.5 hours by private car. Those who want to go by public transportation can take the buses to Serik and from here you can easily reach the theater by taxi or minibus. You can spend a day intertwined with history and art by visiting this magnificent structure.
